A PAIR OF 19th CENTURY SOCKET BAYONETS, one Pattern 1853, circa 1855 private purchase (unmarked except for a large '9' on the socket), blade clean, socket with surface rust, black leather scabbard worn with stitching split, brass fittings clean, plus a Pattern 1876 Common Socket "Lunger" bayonet for the Martini Henry rifle dated 1885 with three reissue marks and WD with Broad Arrow on the ricasso, together with a brown leather scabbard marked with clear Broad Arrow, EFD and inspection markings, with brass fittings again carrying Broad Arrow and inspection markings, blade generally clean, some surface rust to the socket and wear to the leather
